Pharises kennels opened its doors to weimaraners in 1982. Its first dog was owned by Sandra and David Rawlinson and she was called Glinstre Solitaire. The kennels specialised in Weimaraners for a number of years owning, breeding and successfully showing many weimaraners. Along with Sandra and David their daughter Kirsten began to show the dogs in  junior handling classes from the age of 12.

Kirsten was given her first weimaraner as a 21st birthday present Pharises Petrel. Both Pharises Petrel and litter sister Pharises Phasian Pomp shown by Sandra won many "doubles". Crufts was one and latterly best in show and reserve best in show at the Weimaraner Club. Phasian Pomp was BIS at five club shows altogether with 4 reserve ccs. Pharises Prima Donna, mother of the two, belonging to Sandra and David was very successful with many reserve CCs and a CC and BOB,  just missing out on her title.

In 2002, Kirsten and Steven branched out into english pointers with Sh Ch Porschet Midnight Affair JW being probably the most successful dog the kennel has owned to date being the proud owner of her junior warrent, show certificate of merit, show champion title, 3 CCs and 5 reserve CCs. Branofon the rescue pointer also has reserve ccs, his stud book no. and a life long qualification to Crufts and Medogold Night Venture has also qualified for Crufts and won at various championship shows around the country as a younger dog. This side of kennel has  expanded with the arrival of Porschet Midnight Affairs puppies in 2008. Pharises Perseus and Aphrodites appear to be upholding their mothers fantastic show record taking best dog pup and best pitch pup and best of breed puppy first time, at only 6 months old ! (South Wales Championship Show with thanks to M McKie). Monty now has his stud book number, a lifelong qualification to Crufts and his first puppies on the ground. Ruby got her Junior Warrent and although they have been unshown in 2010 they will  be carrying the torch in 2011.

Pharises stud are accredited by the kennel club as responsible breeders and therefore do not use first rank relative matings in the production of our pedigree dogs. Our stock is free from genetic defects and we believe temprement and ability to perform a full days work in the field is as important as aesthetics! Luckily we have not had to compromise either to date however!

Living inseperate locations, Sandra and David branched out into Irish Water Spaniels who they successfully work and are currently awaiting a "new arrival" to show.

The ponies are solely the responsibility of Kirstenand  Steven and their children Georgina and Myles (who is still a little young for the saddle). We have owned and shown Mountain and Moorland for the last fifteen years with great success. Qualifying for HOYS and RIHS with our C and D stallions, our ponies Jack, Dragon and Denzle have also taken home the "ticket"! The ponies are ridden by Georgina and her friend Chloe  and we wish them ongoing successes on their showing missions for the 2010/11 season. We do sometimes have some capacity to offer showing livery but this is very limited to top class mountain and moorland ponies who are treated as our own for the duration we have them. Breaking and schooling also sometimes available. We offer a top class service for our customers and their ponies with a gentle kind and tolerant approach. We love all our ponies and dogs here at Pharises Stud.
